Vehicle LKA - Lane Keeping System
LKA Definition
When the vehicle approaches the identified boundary line and is about to leave the lane, the steering wheel vibrates to alert the driver. When the lane keeping system is working, if you operate the turn signal lever (turn signal is on) before the vehicle crosses the lane boundary line, this vibration warning will not appear, because the system considers that the driver wants to change lanes at this time.
This steering wheel vibration warning only appears once when the vehicle approaches and crosses the lane boundary line. A second warning is only issued when, after the first warning, the vehicle has moved far enough away from the corresponding lane boundary line and then approaches this boundary line again. This prevents continuous warnings when the vehicle is driving parallel to the lane boundary line.

The lane keeping system is designed for highways and well-maintained regular roads, so the system only starts working when the vehicle speed exceeds approximately 65 km/h. When environmental conditions are poor, such as when the road surface is very dirty or covered with snow, the road is too narrow, or the road boundary lines are unclear (during highway construction), the lane keeping system will be temporarily deactivated, and the current status of the system will be displayed to the user on the combination instrument.

LKA Working Principle
The system uses a camera to identify the lane boundary lines. When the lane boundary lines of the vehicle's current lane are identified, the lane keeping system starts working. When the camera detects that the vehicle is deviating from the direction based on the boundary lines, the corresponding white line on the dashboard turns red, the steering wheel vibrates to alert the driver, and the system automatically adjusts the steering wheel to correct the direction back into the lane.
When the distance between the vehicle and the deviating lane line is less than a certain threshold or a wheel has already crossed the lane line, the electronic control unit calculates the auxiliary steering force and deceleration, and controls the steering wheel and brake actuator modules based on the degree of deviation, applying steering force and braking force to stably return the vehicle to the normal track; if the driver turns on the turn signal and normally changes lanes, the system will not give any prompt.

 Notes:

1.If the driver does not hold the steering wheel for a certain period of time, the system will issue a hands-off warning, at which point the driver should grip the steering wheel firmly. If the steering wheel is not held for an extended period, the system will automatically deactivate.
2. System performance is affected by weather, lighting, and lane line clarity. Please drive carefully. The lane keeping assist function only serves as an assist and cannot fully replace the driver.
3. Not applicable to roads with curve radii that are too small.
4. Not applicable to roads where lane markings are not visible.
5. Not applicable to road junctions.

6. Not applicable to roads where the number of lanes increases or decreases.
